How to Build a Lash Clientele in 3 Months

Welcome lash love! I heard you want to grow your clientele. You are either new to a Lashing career or you have moved to a new area and need to rebuild your lash clientele. Here is how I have built my eyelash clientele in 3 months 4 times. There are 6 key points here. They are simple action steps to implement but put all together it will attract your ideal clients right to your lash bed. Scroll to the bottom for the blogpost YouTube video for easy listening on the go.

Let’s make this crystal for you;

The First Step is to POST - if you do not post, there is no way for people to look you up and see if you are reputable. Before social media was as big as it was, I carried around with me a little picture book of all my work. Oh is just giving someone my account so much lighter than that thing? Posting deserves its own video for it alone. But for this sake, we want to build a portfolio where you can turn clients for your work showcasing and to attract people to you who are scrolling on the platform to then come get serviced by you. Be consistent no matter if that is 3 times a week or every day.

You should be taking a lot of pictures! Your phone by the end of the week will be all lashes and that is good! You can never have too much. Post your work pictures, videos, before and afters, you while working, your lash tips, and policies.

If you want to make the most of your time as a growing artist making money, learn how to plan out your content. Batch work twice a month and prepare for the two weeks ahead. There are many platforms to do this on that will cross-post, the easiest one to start with is Facebook Meta, and my second favorite paid one is Planoly.

HASHTAGS and ALT TEXT and LOCATION - when you are posting, utilizing these tools is a must. Use local hashtags that your ideal clients are using or looking at to find you. Go into the advanced settings of your post to the Alt Text and enter your short version goal caption such as “Miam Eyelash Extensions”, this alt text is helping your SEO even greater! When making a post, put your location, you can even do different places in your proximity to show what you are around. If I am in South Beach I tag that, then my salon locations, then Maimi, then Lincoln Road, then Miami Beach. All within driving distance for my clients to come visit me.

The Second Step is to DO THE WORK - to be able to take pictures and post you need to actually do the work. When you take my course I give you a three-month growth plan to do just that. If you are a painter trying to sell paintings, but never paint, how do you expect to sell paintings? Do the work! Grab a friend, sister, mother, brother, or husband, tell Dad to take a quick nap for you, use anyone you can to build your skill, and take content pictures. The more you focus on something, the more you attract. Do the work and the work will come!

The Third Step in Building a Clientele is to make LASH AFTERCARE BAGS - Give every new full set client you have and even every client, fill or a full set, one free aftercare bag that you will then retail to them after they run out of product. The aftercare bag should include at the minimum a brush and cleanser. But spruce it up and put your brand personality into it. I put a cleanser, loose eyeshadow brush for cleaning, lash brush in a tube to keep clean, a card of aftercare, a business card, a little treat, and possibly a coupon for a percentage off their first fill.

The Fourth Step is to TRADE SERVICES - Look in your group of friends or even mutual friends for a nail tech, yoga teacher, hair stylist, or massage therapist. Someone who sees a lot of people that potentially are in front of your ideal clients. Ask them to trade services! Trading can be fishy, the best way I have been able to have trading work for me is to be sure both parties feel like they are getting the better end of the deal. You two can discuss and decide how you want to trade. You can do this by the amount of time such as hour-to-hour amount of work or you can trade by dollar amount. They do something for you and you do something for them. This will get the word out for both of your businesses! Double whammy glory!

The Fifth Step in Building your Lash Clientele is WORD OF MOUTH - this is your true money maker. Implementing a referral program is essential when building a clientele. If a client refers a full set of clients, then they get $35 off their next appointment or one free fill. That full set will make up for the loss of the discount you gave anyway and you have gained a whole new client that will pay you ongoing! I say that is worth it. Another fun word of mouth is to offer $5 off when your client tags you in their social media posts. Be sure to put a cap on this of like max of $15 off for this but they can do it each appointment if they so choose.

The Sixth and Final Step is to Fully Utilize GOOGLE - ask every client you have to leave a Google review with your name in it. If you want to give them a discount for incentive so be it. We want this to be genuine so don’t tell them what to say, we just want the reviews! The more reviews and pictures on your Google business account or your salon's Google business account, the more business you will get. Plain and simple.

When you are grateful and giving, the more you will get. Treat your clients like gold. Lashes is not about just the service but also the experience. Focus on both parts equally. How do you want your clients to feel? Cater your whole procedure from introduction to farewells around this.

I have done these steps to building a clientele; once when getting out of beauty school, then when I moved two hrs away from home, then when I moved across the country, and now again after my 3-year personal hiatus. These have been my steps every time and it has yet to fail. A little bonus I want to give you is this

The Lucky Number 7 Step to Building a Clientele - manifestation and belief. Put on your screensaver “Send me more clients than I can count without being overwhelmed”. FULLY trust that the clients that are meant for you will come. This is not a rush process, yes you need the funds but not working with nightmare clients is worth waiting for your ideal clients to come. Believe that you are attracting your full schedule. Once you have put that order into the universe it will come, but… when you question it or lose faith, the universe will stall because it doesn’t know if you want it or not. Put your all into you and your work and it will come. This is a little woo woo and honey I can be woo woo on you all day but I won’t and will keep it at that. This is just what I focus on during my business retreats!

There you have it. Be patient my lash love, you are daring to get out of your drama and into your dreams here. That is huge. And I want to congratulate you on being human because I am so happy you are. If you have any clientele questions please don’t hesitate to shoot them my way. I look forward to seeing you again when you like, share, comment, and subscribe to make your lashing career more crystal clear.

See you soon
